Donations instead of presents
There are lots of gifts dispatched during Christmas season. Gifts, always meant to be neat and intent by the sender. But often they disappear in some drawer, because the present is not the first one of his kind...
That's why here at alesco we have decided not to send gifts anymore but to give the money to those who really need it: donations instead of gifts. As a result we have boosted these projects during the last three years:
2005 - building African schools (UNICEF)
2006 - buying a lot in Sri Lanka in order to build a Kindergarten on it (Sri Lanka Happy Kids e.V.)
2007 - building this Kindergarten named „Little Friends" in Sri Lanka (Sri Lanka Happy Kids e.V.)
2008: During this year's Christmas season we will support the initiative IN VIA of the Düren-based catholic church alliance Caritas (Düren is the next bigger city and app. 10 kilometers from our main plant in Langerwehe). IN VIA aims to integrate people from a weak social background like homeless, mental sick, permanently unemployed or excon persons back into employment market.
