alesco stacks in green electricity at is main Langerwehe site
Since 1st january 2010, alesco's main Langerwehe site have been running exclusively on green electricity from hydro-electric sources. By utilising green energy, the CO2-emissions caused by the use of electricity will fall by more than 90 percent. This accords to 10.5 million kilograms CO2 per year. In terms of overall emissions resulting from the company's activities in Langerwehe, this equates to a reduction of more than 17 percent, and the corresponding figure for the entire company is ten percent.
The switch to green electricity applies to production facilities for the consumer films and the whole administrative. The production of the bio-films already runs with green electricity by windpower since last year.

The new subsidiary will increase alesco's commitment to environmentally friendly packaging film products. . The Managing Director of this new company will be Philipp Depiereux, who thereby moves from alesco to the subsidiary. At the same time, the alesco director Gunter Depiereux will be leaving his post at the parent company as he is retiring, although he will still be available to the company as a consultant.
